About Village Green Retirement Campus

Enriching Lives, Building Community.

You won't find another retirement community like Village Green anywhere within or around Federal Way. From the beginning, we have focused on creating a breathtaking natural setting, and ensuring that our practices are as eco-friendly as possible - offering sustainability, and promoting a healthy green lifestyle. We believe in the healing powers of nature and the peacefulness and tranquility that can only be found by embracing the beauty of the outdoors.

In addition to maintaining our gorgeous grounds, we are constantly searching for ways to become even greener, and that desire is partially manifested in the conscientious gardening. We never give up looking for ways to make Village Green greener.

All of this, in addition to our beautiful homes, staff, and exciting events makes Village Green the natural choice for senior living.

Village Green Core Values Coins Stack

Every decision we make must satisfy two basic requirements. One, it must enrich lives and two, it must build community. This is our mission. We also adhere to five core values, which are to

1. Be Dedicated

2. Be Optimistic

3. Be Trustworthy

4. Embrace Change

5. Seek to Understand

Every team member is reminded of these core values by the coin they receive to carry with them each day.

Kim Salas at Village Green Retirement Campus

Kim Salas

Village Green Executive Director

Kim Salas has been Village Green’s executive Director since March of 2017. Kim has been working in senior housing and post-acute skilled care for more than 30 years. She began her career as an Admissions Director in skilled nursing.  Kim previously held regional, divisional and corporate leadership roles in sales & marketing, program development, business development and operations for more than 17 years. After transitioning back to operations joust over 4 years ago, she quickly discovered that her passion truly is operations because it encompasses every aspect of senior living and allows her to be more involved with the residents and her team on a daily basis.

Kim feels that Powell Communities is truly a unique organization. She enjoys the genuine authenticity of the company, the owners and the senior leadership. The Powell family is truly committed to serving the residents who live in their communities and the individuals who work for them, and they are engaged in the communities.

The most positive way that Kim impacts the lives of the residents in her community is to be present and engaged in activities and events, she feels that it is very important to take the time to be involved. She loves getting to know our residents and their families.

When not at Village Green, Kim and her husband love doing anything outdoors. They enjoy hiking, camping and skiing, and their favorite outdoor activity is kayaking. They also love spending time with their daughters whenever possible.

“Let your faith be stronger than your fear.”
