About Village Green Retirement Campus

Enriching Lives, Building Community.

You won't find another retirement community like Village Green anywhere within or around Federal Way. From the beginning, we have focused on creating a breathtaking natural setting, and ensuring that our practices are as eco-friendly as possible - offering sustainability, and promoting a healthy green lifestyle. We believe in the healing powers of nature and the peacefulness and tranquility that can only be found by embracing the beauty of the outdoors.

In addition to maintaining our gorgeous grounds, we are constantly searching for ways to become even greener, and that desire is partially manifested in conscientious gardening. We never give up looking for ways to make Village Green greener.

All of this, in addition to our beautiful homes, staff, and exciting events makes Village Green the natural choice for senior living.

5. Seek to Understand

Every team member is reminded of these core values by the coin they receive to carry with them each day.

Meet the Village Green Staff

Esther Densmore – Executive Director of Village Green Retirement Campus

Esther Densmore

Village Green Executive Director

Esther Densmore has been the Executive Director at Village Green since February of 2022.

Esther’s journey in senior living started in Fort Worth, TX while working part time as an Activities Assistant at a CCRC. Thanks to the encouragement of leaders at the company and mentors of her graduate school program, she discovered a career path that allowed her to combine her interest in working with seniors with her education in healthcare administration. Since then, Esther has moved to Washington State to work as a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in skilled nursing facilities, which ultimately led her to Village Green.

Holistic wellbeing is a major driver in Esther’s professional and personal life. She believes that being able to participate in physical/creative activities, enjoying a delicious meal with friends, having events to celebrate big and small moments, knowing there’s someone you can talk to when you need support… are all pieces that contribute to a sense of wellbeing (especially if you can do it outdoors!). With her team, she continues to focus on finding ways to support and improve the sense of wellbeing within the community.

“Don’t let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do… our greatest freedom is the freedom to choose our attitude”

The Village Green Family Story

Village Green feels like home because it has been created by the love of a family. Since Monte Powell and his father Cecil first stood in the midst of its tall firs, Village Green and its residents have had a place in their family's heart. Four generations of Powell's have worked together to create, maintain and manage some of the finest, award-winning retirement residences in the Northwest.

You'll see beauty wherever you look at Village Green Retirement Community. There are perennial gardens, walking paths and majestic woods nearby. It's the ideal place for comfortable and active senior living
