Enriching Lives, Building Community.
You won't find another retirement community like Village Green anywhere within or around Federal Way. From the beginning, we have focused on creating a breathtaking natural setting, and ensuring that our practices are as eco-friendly as possible - offering sustainability, and promoting a healthy green lifestyle. We believe in the healing powers of nature and the peacefulness and tranquility that can only be found by embracing the beauty of the outdoors.
In addition to maintaining our gorgeous grounds, we are constantly searching for ways to become even greener, and that desire is partially manifested in conscientious gardening. We never give up looking for ways to make Village Green greener.
All of this, in addition to our beautiful homes, staff, and exciting events makes Village Green the natural choice for senior living.
Enriching Lives, Building Community.
Every decision we make must satisfy two basic requirements. One, it must enrich lives and two, it must build community. This is our mission. We also adhere to five core values, which are to
1. Be Dedicated
2. Be Optimistic
3. Be Trustworthy
4. Embrace Change
5. Seek to Understand
Every team member is reminded of these core values by the coin they receive to carry with them each day.
Village Green Executive Director
Esther Densmore has been the Executive Director at Village Green since February of 2022.
Esther’s journey in senior living started in Fort Worth, TX while working part time as an Activities Assistant at a CCRC. Thanks to the encouragement of leaders at the company and mentors of her graduate school program, she discovered a career path that allowed her to combine her interest in working with seniors with her education in healthcare administration. Since then, Esther has moved to Washington State to work as a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in skilled nursing facilities, which ultimately led her to Village Green.
Holistic wellbeing is a major driver in Esther’s professional and personal life. She believes that being able to participate in physical/creative activities, enjoying a delicious meal with friends, having events to celebrate big and small moments, knowing there’s someone you can talk to when you need support… are all pieces that contribute to a sense of wellbeing (especially if you can do it outdoors!). With her team, she continues to focus on finding ways to support and improve the sense of wellbeing within the community.
“Don’t let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do… our greatest freedom is the freedom to choose our attitude”

It’s rewarding to bring smiles and share positivity with the residents, families, fellow staff, and others.
On her off time, Aprille likes spending time with her son and friends, traveling, going to the coast, watching movies, and catching up on Dodger baseball. She also likes to read poetry and paint. Her favorite authors are Langston Hughes and Rumi.

Judy Gray has been with Village Green since June of 2012. She joined us with 15 years of experience, and a background in Skilled Nursing.
Judy most enjoys helping to make each day better and richer for our residents, and helping to keep them as independent as possible for as long as possible.
Some of Judy’s favorite ways to positively impact the lives of our community members are to be there for them when they need support, to help them with daily chores, to lend an ear, and to strive to become a second family to them.
Outside of work, Judy enjoys travelling to warm places, hiking, biking, and spending as much time outdoors as possible.

Since Monte Powell and his father Cecil first stood in the midst of its tall firs, Village Green and its residents have had a place in their family's heart. Four generations of Powell's have worked together to create, maintain and manage some of the finest, award-winning retirement residences in the Northwest.
